Music Mountain’s summer concerts are set in an exclusive venue high in the Whangaripo Hills of Matakana amidst natural bush and scenic views.
Directions
To travel to the venue drive north up into the hills from Matakana Village along the Matakana Valley Road. At the top of the hill, turn left into Govan Wilson Road and follow the signs to the venue and parking areas.
Rodney District Council has required that two-way traffic be maintained on Govan Wilson Road at all times and we ask that you be considerate of other drivers. We advocate that you arrange designated safe drivers and consider the use of car pooling for an enjoyable day out with friends.
Parking
Bulk parking will be provided in various sites within 500 metres of the venue. Parking gates will be attended by parking guides and flood lit after dark. Please follow the directions of the parking attendants. Alternative parking will be provided will be provided on the Matakana Valley Road. A courtesy coach will provide a continuous shuttle service to and from the venue every 20 minutes. Signs will be placed on the Matakana Valley road to indicate when venue car parks are full and directing all remaining traffic to the bulk Park and Ride shuttle service.
Important: When parking on the road side please ensure your vehicle is facing the exit to avoid U turns and congestion at shows end.
Transport Services
Charter coaches for the 2010 Bush Party will depart from Sturdee St (Loaded Hog), CBD at 10.30 am, 30th of January and travel directly to the venue gates. Tickets must be purchased in advance as the driver will not accept payment on the day.
The return trip will depart the venue at 1.30am, 31st of January and travel directly to Sturdee St.
Tickets for the return trip are only $20.00 and can be purchased from Eventfinder or Real Groovy Records, 448 Queen St, Auckland.
Be sure to retain your ticket for the return trip.
A free coach service will collect passengers from Florence Avenue in Orewa at 11.00 am and from Baxter street in Warkworth at 11.30 am, and proceed to the venue. These coaches will return their passengers to Orewa and Warkworth at the shows end but will be the last to leave the venue.
A free coach service will collect passengers from the car park on Broadlands Drive in Omaha at 12.30 am and from Hamatana road in Snells beach at 12.30 pm, and proceed to the venue. These coaches wil return thier passengers to Omaha and Snells beach at shows but will be the last to leave the venue.
Accommodation
There are many B&B's, motels, lodges and camp grounds in the district that would love to have ya all come and stay! MMM recommends Bookabach as our preferred supplier of quality Bach’s and holiday homes. Simply follow the link to find one that suits you.
Thanks to the generosity of neighbours, a limited number of free camp sites have become available.
To reserve a space for the 31st of December only, MMM will need from you:
Your name
Your ticket numbers
Number of campers.
Please email this information to MMM through our contacts page and we will endeavour to reserve your spot and send you the details and your site number.
A list will be kept at the gate and only those listed with site numbers will have access.
The spaces must be reserved in advance.
Campers will have to carry their tent a short distance from the car park. (travel light)
Due to local Liquor licensing rules the Parking and camp sites are absolutely Alcohol free zones. MMM security is obliged to be vigilant in this regard.
Sheep World Camp Grounds, just outside of Warkworth has excellent facilities, hot showers, kitchen and barbeque, toilet blocks and heaps of room for tents and camper vans.
MMM will be providing a courtesy shuttle service to and from Sheep World, departing at 12.00 noon and returning at shows end. MMM recommends Sheepworld’s service and bookings can made by calling Ian on 09 425 9962.
Note, Camping is prohibited at the venue.
Litter & Toilets
Litter bins will be provided in all of the car parks and throughout the venue. Please be considerate to the local residents who have generously permitted these concerts to take place and the natural environment by removing your rubbish from the venue. Please note the toilets are designated Ladies and Gents for the comfort of everyone.

General Tips
- Sensible footwear and clothing is recommended. At an altitude of 1200 feet it can get cool after dark. Sun screens and hats are a good idea as is a torch.
- No Gazebos will be permitted as they interfere with the view of other concert goers.
- The water from the taps at the ladies and gents is offered as a convenience for washing, it is rain water from our tanks. Guests may fill their bottles if they choose, no responsibility is taken by MMM. Bottled water will be available from the bar.
- First aid will be situated next to the Ladies toilets.
- Torches are also recommended.
